About the Famatina Valley
Famatina is a remote wine-producing valley in the La Rioja region of Argentina. This dry and dusty river area sits among the foothills of the Andes, where it is responsible for the production of fresh, aromatic white wines made from Argentina's great white grape, Torrontes. While Torrontes is by far the most important grape variety planted in Famatina, the ever-present Malbec produces excellent wines in the region as well, along with Bonarda, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc.
